Welcome to our Joomla! 3.x Demo Site
This demo site gives you access in the front end to two sample components. To show you just part of what can be achieved with Component Architect these have all been installed directly from the zip file generated by Component Architect. There has been no post generation modification of these to provide additional functionality.
To get access to the front end edit functionality then please login with:
username: demouser
password: demo
You can also use the demo administrator area by going to Admin Demo for Joomla! 3.x (opens in a new window/tab) and login with:
username: demoadmin
password: demo.
This website is running Joomla! 3.10.11 so you can see our components are compatible with the latest version of Joomla! 3.x. We are currently updating Component Architect and its code templates to Joomla! 4.x. As part of this we have also decided to concentrate on just one level of Component Architect. Previously we had a Standard free level and a Professional paid for level, which since 2015 was only available and used internally. From now on all the features of the Professional level are going to be available in the free version of Component Architect. Whilst this enhanced extension will be available for free, support for it will eventually become charged for. The effort in creating and maintaining this extension is considerable and there needs to be some way of monetising this in order to ensure it is sustainable.
Further news on these develooments will be provided soon!
Sample Components
CA Content
Our main code templates are all based on the core components in Joomla! itself and, in particular, the main core component of com_content. Whilst our code templates and component generation can create components for an un-limited variety of purposes, we thought it would be interesting to see what a Component Architect version of com_content would look like and how it would work. So here it is!
There are some differences - can you spot them? The reason is that in making our code templates flexible we have had to change some of the structures e.g. in CA Content the blog view is not within the category view. But overall it works pretty much the same as Joomla!'s version
You can use CA Content in both this site front end and the admin area. Add articles, edit them, change status (.e.g. publish etc) and delete them. In the front end you will see examples of modules included in our code templates. Plus standard plugins for navigation, searching (note: Smart Search is not set up on this demo site), voting etc. In the admin area you can add menu items directly or use the Test Data Generator. On Menu Items you can check out the flexibility of what is displayed in the front end list and record views.

CA Events
This is a multi- table (Event, Attendee, Document and Venue) example based on a simple Events system
You can use CA Events in both this the site front end and the admin area but, to show our use of the Joomla! ACL, Venues are only added and edited in the Admin area. Also we have restricted any deletes to only those records created by 'demoadmin' or 'demouser'. Your can add events, edit them, change status (e.g. publish), add/edit/delete attendees and add/edit/delete documents in both front-end and admin. In the front-end you will see examples of modules included in our code templates. Plus standard plugins for navigation, searching (note: Smart Search is not set up on this demo site), voting etc. In the admin area you can add menu items directly to create your own views. On Menu Items you can check out the flexibility of what is displayed in the front end list and record views.
